Humans use eye-contact in interpersonal communication, for example for signalling interest, attention and confidence. We also derive assumptions about others from their eye-contact behavior.
Virtual eye-contact was explored using the Crystal Sphere display.
The results were presented at two international conferences
Built upon the Crystal Sphere project experiments investigating eye-contact with virtual human characters were conducted. The results were published at ISS2018 in Tokyo, Japan and IEEE VR 2019 in Osaka, Japan. The experiments also are the main contribution of Georg’s Master Thesis.
